behold prayer walk ~ October 31st 8am - Noon

“Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up, do you not sense it? I am making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19

behold prayer walk

October, 31st — Downtown River Walk — Wilmington, NC. Between 8am - Noon — Come anytime between these hours with your own group/family (this will help with social distancing requirements). This is basically just an open-ended call to pray God’s heart/word for our city and nation.

Earlier this year, God had been putting it on my heart to be more involved in praying his heart for our city and nation. Every day on television and social media I was constantly being made aware of fear, hate, and division. I would feel drained mentally and spiritually from the weight of it all. Instead of praying out of fear of what I can see physically going on, I began to feel a shift in my spirit calling me to pray prayers of victory and declare that the battle has already been won. I was led to this book called ‘Releasing Prophetic Solutions’ by Christy Johnston (for sure get this book by the way it will change your prayer life!)

“Prayer asks for answers. Prophecy is the intention of the Father’s heart upon a matter…Prophetic prayer strikes the ground of a situation like lightening, announcing and preparing the way for the Lord to come in with answers, overturning demonic strongholds with one touch of His might and power. This partnership abruptly interjects and halts the plans of the enemy with the intentions of God’s heart.”

I would like to ask y’all to join me in praying prophetic declarations and God’s word. “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” Exodus 14:13 We speak to the Egyptians (wherever we see bondage/slavery) in our cities and nation that they have no more power over us in Jesus name!

OUR PRAYER

Abba Father,

Thank you that you are doing a new thing here in our city and nation! We feel the tides turning and the winds shifting! Please forgive us of our sins and the sins of our people and make us white as snow. We praise you for fighting our battles for us— that all we have to do is simply humble ourselves under your mighty hand and wait and see the deliverance you have planned for us (exodus 14:13)!

We thank you for defending unity and peace here. Father prepare a table for us in the midst of our enemies (psalm 23:5). What the enemy meant for disaster you are working into our good. We know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). So we declare now that all must bow to the name of Jesus and His will, will be done here as it is in heaven.

Give your sons and daughters the tools, ideas, and plans we need to help usher in your reformation and revelation here. That we would be infused with heavenly creativity to the issues facing our city, nation, and the world! That your righteousness would rein.

You alone know the plans you have for us, plans to prosper us. To give us a hope and bright future (jeremiah 29:11) Father that you would expel all fear and worry and overcome our city with redemption and peace that transcends understanding (philippians 4:7).

We ask that you would pour out your spirit on all flesh and prepare your sons and daughters for a ripe harvest in Jesus holy name we pray! Amen!

Orphan / Fatherless / Motherless / Widow

Dear Father,

We come before you asking that you would help our hearts reflect yours. Please forgive us as your children from any neglect that has been done to the orphans, fatherless, motherless,  and widows in our community. Help us to get plugged in and be sensitive to your holy spirits lead in areas we can grow in this in our own lives.

James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.”

Psalm 82:3 “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.”

Psalm 146:9 “The Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, but He thwarts the way of the wicked.”

John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

 Oppressed/Marginalized/Human trafficking

 Dear Father,

Thank you for your heart for justice and mercy! We ask that you would bless all those who have been hurt by racism, slander, and oppression. That we would be a unifying city and nation that speaks up for wrong doing and withholds honor and love toward all of your children. That we bind up the spirit of hate and division and release your peace and joy in the atmosphere. We ask that you reveal to our military and police force where people are being mistreated and trafficked and that they will be found! That no weapon formed against them shall prosper! You are declaring that the captives are to be released in Jesus name!

Isaiah 61:1-3 “ He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners.”

Psalm 82:4 “Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Matthew 25:40 The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

 The Unborn/Adoption/Fostering

Dear Father,

Please forgive us as a nation for the shedding of innocent blood. Put your spirit ablaze in us with your conviction for life. Create in us a cry for justice in this matter within our governmental structures. Help us be part of the solution, by giving us the desire to adopt and foster children. Give us a heart to come alongside women who have had abortions and teach them of your mercy and redemptive power. Help us to reveal you in the way we navigate this issue with the world around us.

Psalm 139: 13-16 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

Proverbs 31: 8-9 “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Romans 8:15 “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

DECLARATION VERSES

Isaiah 61:1-3 “ He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. “

Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Isaiah 35:1-4 The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God. Strengthen the feeble hands,  steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
