Hi again friends!
I’m so excited to finally share our save the dates with you!! Making the save the dates felt like such a milestone in the process — like suddenly everything is a little more real. But what makes them even more special to me is the scripture we chose to include:
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
This verse has meant so much to me over the years. Luke and I have been together for six years now (which I know sounds like a long time!), but I wouldn’t trade a single moment of the waiting. God has used this season to teach me so much about trust, patience, and depending on Him rather than my own timeline.
Years ago, when I was fasting, I remember this verse was sent to me and I felt like the Lord was kindly whispering, “Trust My timing.” At the time, I was struggling with patience, wishing things would move faster. But through His Word and through encouragement from people in my life (shoutout to Carissa, who reminded me to treasure that season with Luke and not wish it away), God gently shifted my perspective.
And then, on the day of my engagement, this verse showed up again. My best friend and I opened up our devotional (New Morning Mercies — one of my favorites!), and it guided us to Ecclesiastes 3. I began that day with that scripture in mind without even knowing that I was going to be engaged that evening. Once I got engaged that scripture came to mind and I was in awe of His goodness.
That moment of Luke proposing was unlike anything I’ve ever felt — surreal, peaceful, like I was living in a dream. But more than anything, I felt a wave of God’s presence wash over me. It was His reminder that His timing is perfect — not rushed, not delayed, but right on time.
So when it came to our save the dates, there was no question about what verse I wanted to include. Ecclesiastes 3:11 is truly a reminder to keep one eye on now and one eye on eternity, trusting that God is weaving everything together in His perfect time.
If you’re in a season of waiting (on marriage, on answers, on prayers you’ve been praying for years), I just want to encourage you:
God’s timing really is beautiful. It may not look the way you pictured it, but He knows the story from beginning to end. And when the moment comes, you’ll see His faithfulness written all over it.
Many blessings,
Sadie🤍
